Public consultation on future euro banknotes
Banknote VoteThe democratic alternative for European citizens

Standings so far

Nothing here is settled until voting closes on 21 September 2026. Rankings use a weighted score, not a raw count, so a late surge from one network will not carry an entry.

Overall

Ranked by weighted score across every category. The top entry is the one Europe would actually put in its wallet, assuming Europe is representative of people who saw a podcast link.

People

Faces that shaped the continent, or did not.

Animals

Birds, beasts and everything with a beak.

Moments

The scenes we would rather frame than forget.

Who turned up

Self-declared, so treat it the way you would treat any survey where nobody checks.

Why the ranking is not just upvotes minus downvotes

A design with five upvotes and nothing else would beat one with four hundred upvotes and fifty downvotes under a plain subtraction. Instead each entry gets the lower bound of a Wilson confidence interval, which asks what the true approval rate is likely to be given how many people actually looked. Ten votes buy you a cautious estimate; four hundred buy you a confident one.
